WordPress Plugin Of The Week: Calculated Fields Form

Every good website is packed full of helpful little features that make our user experience just that little bit more enjoyable.

Sadly, more often than not these features are overlooked and taken for granted – but not today!

This week we are making an effort to recognise one particular feature – calculated fields.
*What the heck?*
Well the plugin itself goes by the name of Calculated Fields Form and it’s a real nifty little tool – let me explain:

What’s it all about?

Have you ever booked a hotel online?

You enter the details of your stay on a form; giving the duration and other information. Then the cost is calculated and you go on to pay…

Calculated Fields Form allows you to create your own WordPress forms with automatically calculated fields – such as those on most booking sites.

For example if you sell a product or service that calculates costs depending on factors such as duration, size, quality etc.. Calculated Fields Form will allow you to simply create a form where costs are automatically calculated based upon your customers specific selections.

Form Builder

Calculated Fields Form also has a form builder tool included in the plugin. Whilst this may not be the most in-depth form builder out there; it does contain many cool features and customisable options that allow you to create some really awesome looking forms (that of course integrate perfectly with calculated fields).

The builder supports multiple field types such as drop-downs, checkboxes, radiobuttons, dates and numbers. It also supports multi-page forms and comes with free templates.

But it doesn’t stop there

Calculated Fields Form is pretty versatile; it can be used as a:

…Anything that requires calculations and automatically filled fields – you get the picture!

I’m sure at some point we’ve all purchased something online, applied for finances or insurance, or booked an event. All of these processes would have made use of some kind of automatic field form and personally, there are few better than Calculated Field Form. I couldn’t recommend it more if you’re creating a WordPress site that offers one of the previously mentioned services.
